Product Description
Peaty’s LinkLube All-Weather Chain Lube is crafted for cyclists who need reliable performance in any condition. This minty fresh, triple distilled chain oil is designed to keep your bike running smoothly, no matter the weather.
The secret behind Peaty’s LinkLube All-Weather Chain Lube is its unique two-part formula. It penetrates deep into your chain, pushing out moisture, grit, and grime. This is replaced with a special blend of oils and waxes, known as Peaty’s secret sauce, which both lubricates and protects your chain. Remarkably, it cleans your chain as you ride!
Two-Part Formula Explained
When left to sit, the lube separates into a clear base and a blue secret sauce. This separation is key to its all-weather capability. The secret sauce combines oils and waxes typically found in either wet or dry lubes, offering long-lasting protection in wet conditions while staying clean in dry environments.
The clear base lube is anti-corrosive and water-displacing. When mixed with the secret sauce, it reaches every part of your chain, driving out unwanted elements and leaving behind the special sauce to reduce friction and noise.
Application Instructions
- Completely degrease your drivetrain before applying new lube. Use a foaming drivetrain degreaser or xxx solvent degreaser for new chains.
- Rinse your chain thoroughly with clean water after degreasing.
- Remove as much water as possible from the chain. PT17 is recommended for best results.
- Shake the bottle well to mix the secret sauce evenly.
- Apply the lube while cycling the chain backwards (for ebikes, pedal forwards in a stand) to cover every link.
- Continue cycling the chain for about 10 seconds to help the lube penetrate.
- Wipe away all excess lube with a clean cloth to prevent dust attraction in dry conditions.
Tips for Use
- In wet weather, leave a small amount of lube on the chain’s exterior for extended protection.
- On first use with pre-used chains, the chain may turn black as the lube expels hidden grime. Keep riding, degreasing, and reapplying until the chain is clean.
Caution
Avoid getting LinkLube on your brakes or brake pads.
